Re-ment VS Mimo pieces

Resim
Gathered a few pieces to compare. All the ones on the left are Re-ment and all the ones of the right are Mimo.

Mission Mini Cupcakes + Mimo Miniature Desserts

Resim
From left to right: Peanut Butter, Aztec Chocolate, Red Velvet, Horchata. These are my favorite flavors from Mission Minis. The ones w/ a chocolate cake base are moist but the Horchata and Red Velvet are always kind of dry. But I still get them whenever I have a craving because this shop is the closest to work. Also, I prefer mini cupcakes over regular sized ones because the icing to cake ratio is perfect and I can just pop the whole thing into my mouth. These are from the Mimo Hong Kong Style Dessert series The one on the left is a durian cake and the one on the right is fruit filled mochi From left to right: mixed fruit w/ jellies, mango + grapefruit + sago in coconut milk, mixed fruit + sago Durian in the back .

4 more sets from the Mimo High Tea collection

Resim
This set is suppose to be the Asian Style Tea with a few dim sum items like egg roll, BBQ pork pie and egg tart. There's so little food in this set so I took other pastries/cakes from other sets to fill up the platter. Both sets are titled as Asian style so I grouped them together for this pic. The lids of the tea canisters are removable. I have to be careful when storing the 3-tier pastry stand. The pastry stand comes in 1 piece so each plate is not removable. The pastry stand is slightly smaller than Re-ment's 3-tier stands so not all Re-ment cakes will look nice here. Check out the details of the food below:

Mimo miniature coconut tarts + the real coconut tart comparison. I went to the Chinese bakery to buy coconut cream buns so I can take a miniature-vs-life-size picture but they didn't have them. So I ended up buying the coconut tarts instead.  I finally accumulated enough miniature cookie jars and cookies to capture this set. The cookies w/ the rainbow candies were from Re-ment's American Kitchen. Everything else were from the Bread & Butter series. I like these jars because the material is crystal clear, thin and look like glass. With these jars, I need to store them right after I'm done using them. I had 2 cookie jars from the Re-ment Mini Sweets set and after a few months of displaying them in a dust-free display case, the 2 jars turned from crystal clear to milky white. So I ended up throwing them out and hunted for another set online.

Mimo High Tea (2 sets) + A closer look at some Mimo Bakery Pieces

Resim
The 2 chairs and table are from Re-ment. All the other items are from Mimo. I combined the French-style High Tea set & some of the Victorian Tea set together. A close-up of the 3-tiered pastry stand. The cakes are smaller and not as detailed as most Re-ment or Megahouse cakes. Hehe....the three items on the plate are from the Mimo Bakery series! Yes, those 3 cakes on the plate are also from the Mimo Bakery series. The cake w/ the yellow roses is from the special edition of the Mimo Bakery. The chocolate cake came w/ the Mimo Baker doll. The pink rose cake is the regular color version. The Chinese characters mean "Happy Birthday." From left to right: Taro Swiss roll (came with the Mimo Baker doll), Chocolate Swiss roll (special edition version), Yellow Cake Swiss roll (regular edition version) From left to right: Original egg tart (regular version), Portuguese-style (came w/ the Mimo baker doll), Egg white egg tart (special edition). I don't really like the egg white e...

UML Mimo Bakery + Doll (regular + special edition)

Resim
This is a Hong Kong style bakery set from Mimo. The bakery showcase was from Rement so the showcase was actually too high for the Mimo doll. I had to discreetly place the doll on top of a miniature chair so that her upper half was visible                                     I accidentally pulled out both of her arms and I could not put them back together because her clothes were impossible to remove. So in these pictures, the arms were loosely held up by the sleeves. Unlike other doll clothes where there are Velcros to easily attach/detach the two fabrics, Mimo dolls do not have that. For example, in order to remove the red apron, I would need to use scissors to cut the thread that secures the bow on the back. Even if I was able to remove the apron, I still had to remove the white blouse with scissors in order to remove...

New Mimo Miniature Sets

Resim
First one is the Golden Girls Steak House series. The second set is the Mushroom Stall series. While in Hong Kong this March, I saw the Mushroom Stall sets displayed out but they were not for sale. The employee said they were displayed to gather customers' opinions. I really liked the Mahjong tiles & table but would have to wait for a friend to purchase them for me. Or for a higher cost, I can always look for them on ebay. The 3rd set is the Mimo Cake Shop series. The flier indicates that it's a special edition. Not sure if it means limited time only. The bottom one is the Mimo Bakery.
